2 weeks left!!

Wowsers I have 2 weeks to go! I can't believe it! And only 1 week left of work. We all had lunch today and the guys and gals at work got me a London A-Z - it's brilliant!!! Such an awesome present. I will use it so much.

Well I'm back at mum's place now, it is nice although a bit strange apart from the annoying cat, but I'll get over it... I got a laptop bag, got my 1Gb memory card woohooo and I've had my car detailed, cut & polished and ready to sell!!

Our party is this weekend, yay! Last party in Brisbane with all my loved ones.. Will put my piccies up next week.

Counting down the days...

There's now 22 sleeps to go. I am starting to struggle a little on the emotional side, even though I am extremely organised and everything is going according to plan.

We move out of our apartment this weekend and stay with our parents for the next 2.5 weeks. During that time I need to sell my car and start applying for jobs. And pack all my stuff. On Sunday we had our last Sunday roast watching the big brother eviction.. it was quite sad to think that it was the last time.

Gav and I stumbled home to Robertson after a big night out in the Valley, also knowing that that would be the last time! I am going to miss everything here! But I'm very excited about the trip. I'm so looking forward to Thailand! We're going to book our flights very soon.

Since the last post I've been to the travel doctor, had my shots - Diptheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Typhoid. I got my travel insurance today through 1cover. I got six week's worth which will cover me through Thailand and 1 month in London until I'm settled somewhere. I've bought a 1Gb memory card for my camera, so just waiting for that to arrive as I got it through ebay ($48 - bargain!!). Tomorrow I'm going to sign up with 1st Contact and get the kickstart package which will help with a UK bank account and sim card etc.

I can't believe I only have 2 weeks left at work! My last day will be sad! I finish on the 7th June, a week before flying out. Gav has a few days off before I leave so it will be nice to spend a bit more time together before I go.

Our party is next weekend and I'm looking forward to it! I hope I dont make a fool of myself and bawl all night :-P

5 weeks to go

Well it is exactly 5 weeks today that I will be packing the last things into my backpack and waving goodbye to my beautiful family and friends... Boo hoo!

The status - I still have so much to do! But I think I'm on track. I've started packing up my stuff and taking boxes of things over to mum's to be stored away. I've got my passport, worked out that I'm going to sign up to 1st contact for my bank account, we've worked out our itinerary for Thailand (Bangkok > Kanchanaburi > Ko Samui > Phuket > Ko Phi Phi > Bangkok), we've given our notice for our apartment, I've made all my appointments to see the travel doctor etc...

I've arranged our farewell party @ The Empire and sent out the invites! Got my travel towel. The major things I still have to do are to pack and move, sell my car, organise travel insurance, plus all the little things like getting an international driver's license, a youth card, photograph and photocopy all my stuff in case I need to make an insurance claim, book accomodation in Bangkok, flights in Thailand and arrange accommodation for the first week in London. Oh and find a job.

Anyway, enough of the boring stuff... I can't believe it's only 5 weeks away! I'm nervous, scared, excited, sad, everything! And very stressed about getting everything done in time. But I think it will all work out, as long as I stick to my schedule! Which I still have to plan. It's all very exciting really.
