Paddington

We've spent the last 3 nights staying in a hotel in Paddington. Paddington is really cute, the hotel wasn't. Well, it was ok apart from the shower, the water dribbled out (literally), we haven't been able to wash our hair and this morning we had to have cold showers. But the beds were comfy and I have slept really well for the last 3 nights.

It has been a funny week, I haven't done as much sightseeing, I'm not really sure where the time has gone actually! On Wednesday Romana and I went to the London Dungeon, which I have to say would have been a whole lot more fun had we been about 13 years old, but it wasn't too bad and they got a few screams out of us. :-P

We went to Leicester Square last night to see a movie. We'd hoped to see the new pirates of the carribbean movie in the big Odeon cinema but we only got there 1.5 hrs before hand and it was already nearly sold out (!) so we saw Inside Man in one of the miniplex cinemas (they are mini - only 60 seats!). It was quite good. We thought it amusing that they have ushers to show you to your seat, which we picked when we bought our tickets. Oh and we got a bargain dinner from a place next door to the cinema, curry and a drink for £4.50!

I can't think right now what else we've done really. It was a mission getting our bag from the cargo terminal at the airport. Tube, buses, queues, next time I'm definitely sending stuff via the post. But I've got all my bits and pieces now - I just need a room to put them in!!

Speaking of, I've finally found a place to live. It's in a cute little house at the end of a beautiful victorian terrace house lined street (although mine isn't a victorian terrace house unfortunately) with 4 other nice english people - 3 guys and 1 girl. The house is modern, clean, has 2 bathrooms and a backyard with a pond that the guys built themselves. The only thing is that I can't move in until later this month which is a pain. I hope poor Charlotte wont mind me sleeping in her bed for another week or two!

Today we check out of the hotel and head back to Charlotte's place for the weekend. We're going to the Tate modern today and going to check out London bridge! The Chemical Brothers are also going to play at Fabric tonight so we may even go see them, depending on finances.

The exchange rate is starting to really depress me, I transferred $5000 dollars into my uk bank account yesterday and it didn't even equate to £2000. Booo!! I'm going to have to start looking for a job very soon. (Boo again!)

I am starting to settle in a bit more, I'm getting my bearings now although I really am looking forward to having a room of my own!

More pics to also come soon.
