Travel expo

We went to the travel expo yesterday and picked up loads of brochures. Keryn got a Europe on a shoestring Lonely Planet for 20% off. There were discounts on travel insurance, but they are available for a couple of weeks so I will go into Flight Centre and get that sometime this week. I think I will get about 1 month's worth of insurance to cover me in Thailand and while I get set up in London. I will need it to cover my laptop as well so it will cost a bit more. It can be extended during the contract so I'll just start with a month and extend it if need be.

Keryn also found out that you can start a new HSBC bank account through Travelex, which means that we will have UK bank accounts before we go! (and save the money paying 1st Contact or similar to set one up for us)

You need a passport to be able to do this so once I have my passport I will arrange it. I just have to get my photo taken for my passport application and then it's ready to go. (I'm waiting till I have a good hair day :-p)
